Three wrestlers were disqualified by RUSADA for violating anti-doping rules

The 2014 world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in the up to 71 kg category, Russian Chingiz Labazanov, was disqualified for one year for violating anti-doping rules. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).

Labazan's violation is a violation of the Athlete's availability for out-of-competition testing, including failure to provide required whereabouts information and failure to appear for testing.

“He missed the doping test,” Mikhail Mamiashvili, president of the Russian Wrestling Federation, told TASS. “We will draw conclusions, we will make suggestions to coaches and doctors. This is not an ordinary athlete, this is a member of the national team, we were counting on him. The man is not convicted of application or abuse, this is laxity and negligence. Any disqualification is a loss of image.”

The 28-year-old athlete's disqualification will begin on April 11, 2019.

For a similar violation, the wrestler’s older brother, Ibragim Labazanov, who is a two-time Russian champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, was also sanctioned.

Wrestler Valery Gusarov received a four-year suspension after prohibited substances were found in his sample.
