In Saratov, the court fined a picketer who demanded write-off of gas debts

On April 29, the Frunzensky District Court of Saratov fined activist Andrei Gorodetsky 5,000 rubles. This is reported by "Idel. Realities".

Gorodetsky was found guilty of collaborating with an undesirable organization (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because the activist called himself a member of Open Russia on social networks.

According to the court, on January 30, Gorodetsky held a one-man picket on behalf of Open Russia: the activist stood with a poster "Write off our gas debts!" At the meeting, the man said that in this way he demanded the cancellation of debt for gas for all residents of the region. Earlier, debts worth more than nine billion rubles were written off from residents of Chechnya, but later the Supreme Court of the republic overturned this decision.

According to Idel. Realii”, this is the fourth case of Andrei Gorodetsky under Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. According to the law, after two convictions under this article that have entered into force, the authorities can initiate a case under the criminal article on cooperation with an undesirable organization (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code).

• In April 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office declared undesirable a number of organizations associated with Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Including the Open Russia Civic Movement. However, the Russian movement with the similar name "Open Russia" was not banned.
• The first criminal case under the article on cooperation with an undesirable organization (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code) was initiated against Anastasia Shevchenko, a member of the federal council of Open Russia. She is under house arrest.
• On March 30, Open Russia declared self-liquidation for security reasons.
