“The abduction of a woman took place in the Malgobek region of Ingushetia. Having stolen a woman, a deputy of the sixth convocation, a member of the United Russia faction in the People's Assembly of the Republic, decided to marry her. According to preliminary information, the abducted woman previously held the position of chief physician of the Malgobek central regional hospital,” the source said.

According to him, the situation was “settled” by the elders: the wedding will take place next Sunday, but the deputy will have to pay a fine of 200 thousand rubles in favor of the poor, and his accomplices - 100 thousand rubles each, otherwise they will all be excommunicated from the teip.

In April 2017, the Parliament of Ingushetia introduced a bill to the State Duma providing for up to three years in prison for kidnapping for the purpose of marriage. The head of the republic, Yunus Bek-Evkurov, did not support the bill, and as a result, it was never adopted.
