Special Counsel Mueller criticized the summary version of his report on the “Russian case.” Attorney General Barr did not agree with the claims

Special Counsel Mueller was dissatisfied with the short version of his report on the "Russian investigation", which was prepared by the US Department of Justice. This follows from Mueller's letter to the head of the Department of Justice and Attorney General William Barr, which was made public by Democrats from the US House Judiciary Committee.

The letter is dated 27 March. In it, Mueller noted that the short version of the report "does not fully reflect the context, nature and content of the work and findings" of his investigation. He also added that there is "confusion in society regarding the most important aspects of the investigation." Mueller called for the release of the full version of his report as soon as possible.

At a congressional hearing, Barr said that he was trying not to retell the Mueller report, but to quickly publish its main conclusions. He added that he suggested that the special counsel read a short version of the report before publication, but he refused. After the publication, Mueller, according to Barr, told him that he did not consider the short version of the report itself to be inaccurate, but the press reports about it.

Barr also responded to accusations of trying to exonerate Trump of obstruction of justice. “I didn't make excuses. I stated that we did not find enough evidence. This was the job of the Department of Justice - to determine whether there was a crime. Now the report is in the hands of the Americans, and everyone can decide for themselves. There will be elections in 18 months,” Barr said.
