One of the deputies of the People's Assembly of Ingushetia kidnapped a local resident in order to marry her, Interfax reports citing a source.
“The abduction of a woman took place in the Malgobek district of Ingushetia. Having stolen a woman, a deputy of the sixth convocation, a member of the United Russia faction in the People's Assembly of the republic, decided to marry her. According to preliminary information, the kidnapped woman previously held the position of chief physician of the Malgobek Central District Hospital,” the source said.
According to him, the situation has already been resolved. The wedding is scheduled for next Sunday. However, the deputy will have to pay a fine of 200 thousand rubles in favor of the poor in the central mosque, and his accomplices - 100 thousand rubles each.
This case caused a resonance in the region, since the deputies of parliament themselves have repeatedly advocated tougher punishment for bride kidnapping and the complete eradication of the ancient Caucasian custom, which is contrary to Islamic traditions.
