Thus, it cannot be said that the aggravation of anti-Semitism is associated with the Arab-Israeli conflict. Zuckerman is sure that we are talking about the revival of classical anti -Semitism. He recalled the motto that sounded at a recent demonstration of French Jews "there is a limit" and added that this slogan should disperse on the Internet like a well -known "Metoo" slogan.

According to the report, the number of serious cases of manifestation of violence against Jews increased by 13% per year (from 342 to 387 cases). The largest number of anti -Semitic incidents occurred in the United States (more than 100 cases), Great Britain (68), France and Germany (35 in each), Canada (20), Belgium (19). The main type of manifestations of anti -Semitism are acts of vandalism (216 cases or 56%), threats (89, 23%), incidents without the use of weapons (55, 14%).

The report also indicates that at least 138 private individuals were attacked by anti -Semitic grounds, and damage to 104 objects of private property was caused. This is due to the fact that private individuals and their property are protected worse than synagogues and communal centers. The objects of vandalism are often Jewish cemeteries and monuments: for example, in March of this year, unknown in Strasbourg overturned a vertical memorial plate installed on the site of the synagogue burned and blown up by the members of the Hitler Youth in 1940-1941.

The report was published on the annual day of the catastrophe and heroism of the Jews of Europe and North Africa. The events of the Disaster Day will begin at 17:00, when the "march in the name of the living" will be held in Tel Aviv. He will go from the square in front of the Gabim Theater, according to the organizers, its goal is a demonstration of solidarity with the disaster that survived during the days of the disaster and people living in Israel.

After the ceremonies across the country, events "Memories in the living room" will be held. People who have survived the disaster will tell the audience the history of their lives. It is expected that at least half a million people will take part in these events.

May 2 at 10:00 throughout the country will sound a two -minute mourning siren. After that, the ceremony of laying wreaths to the memorial to the participants of the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto will begin in Jerusalem. Wreaths will also be entrusted in educational institutions, public organizations and at military bases.

At 11:00 in the Knesset, as well as in many educational institutions and memorial complexes, traditional events will begin, "Each person has a name", during which the names of those who died in the Holocaust will be read. The ceremony will be held in Knesset with the participation of the speaker of the parliament Julia Edelstein.

At 13:00 in the Skor tent in the Memorial Complex "Yad Va-shim" the official ceremony will begin.

The day of the catastrophe and heroism of European Jewry is dedicated to six million Jews who died at the hands of the Nazis during the Second World War.
