The court fined four participants in the May Day march in St. Petersburg

The Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined assistant deputy Vadim Safonov, who was detained at the May Day march, 20 thousand rubles, the telegram channel of the joint press service of the city courts reported .

Safonov was found guilty under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (violation of the rules for holding mass events). As a participant in the march told Rosbalt, the judge refused to announce the charges “personally against” him. “They (the charges) were read out against a whole group of people numbering more than a hundred people,” Safonov said.

Later, the same court fined activist Pavel Ivankin 20 thousand rubles and also imposed 20 hours of compulsory labor on Alina Misheva, finding them guilty under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code.

According to the “Apology of Protest”, today the Vasileostrovsky District Court fined two more participants in the May Day march, Alena Vodolagina and Dmitry Shukolyukov, 10 thousand rubles under the same article.

Earlier in St. Petersburg, police detained more than 60 participants in the coordinated May Day march. Oppositionists Andrei Pivovarov and Alexander Shurshev were arrested , found guilty of organizing an uncoordinated rally inside an agreed one, when one of the columns stopped. Later, city authorities accused the “provocateurs” of attempting to hold an “illegal rally.”
