Sukhoi company refused to comment on the reasons for the crash of its SSJ-100 aircraft in Sheremetyevo

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which includes Sukhoi, refused to comment on the possible causes of the crash of its Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft at Sheremetyevo Airport, as the investigation is being conducted so far.

“No official comments. An investigation is underway,” said TASS President UAC Yuri Slyusar, responding to a request to comment on possible circumstances and reasons for the crash.

The government commission, which investigates the causes of the disaster that occurred on May 5 in Sheremetyevo, also urge not to draw hasty conclusions and wait for the investigation results.

At this stage, as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Yuri Borisov said, there are no complaints about the SSJ-100 aircraft. "There are no complaints about the technical parameters to the serviceability of the aircraft on the results of the commission yet. The work has not been completed, it is too early to draw conclusions, let's wait," the Deputy Prime Minister told reporters.

Meanwhile, on the eve of the first payments to the victims of the SSJ-100 disaster. “We managed to transfer money from the Moscow region yesterday. You remember that the Moscow Region paid all the victims. The Moscow region transferred money to all regions yesterday, including the Murmansk region, and yesterday the first payments went,” the head of the Ministry of Labor Maxim Topilin said on May 9.

The Aeroflot plane SSJ-100, flying from Sheremetyevo on May 5 to Murmansk, after about 30 minutes returned to the Moscow airport, where he made an emergency landing and caught fire. On board were 73 passengers and five crew members. 41 people died, another 10 were hospitalized. To date, two patients in disaster remain in serious condition.
