Five years ago, on May 10, 2014, Russian special services detained Oleg Sentsov in Crimea and accused him of plotting terrorist attacks. Now he is serving a 20-year sentence beyond the Arctic Circle in the colony of the city of Labytnangi. At the same time, he is directing a film based on his own play “Numbers”, which is being filmed in Kyiv.

The mediator between the director and the acting troupe is the documentary filmmaker Askold Kurov. He is one of the main characters of the podcast. Among others are the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, the cousin of the Ukrainian director Natalya Kaplan, Lyudmila Sentsova is the mother of Oleg, Svetlana Ageeva is the mother of the prisoner of war Viktor Ageev, who was detained in eastern Ukraine.

The podcast is dedicated not to Oleg Sentsov as such, but to the images that politicians, the media and ordinary people have created for him over the course of these five years - some deliberately, some accidentally. The editors of Novaya Gazeta and Hromadsky hope that soon he will stop embodying other people's views and expectations and simply return to his relatives who are waiting for him and to the things he wants to do.
