According to Beglov, members of the new city government "implemented the most urgent measures in the management of the city." First of all, they "put things in order in finances." The deputies of the acting governor once again repeated the main idea of ​​his election campaign: budget revenues need to be increased by half, up to 1 trillion rubles. But, despite the support of the country's leadership, it will not be easy to achieve success-again, due to a difficult inheritance: “Underfunding key industries is hundreds of billions. This is much more than the annual budget of St. Petersburg. ” However, everything will work out, Beglov summed up, if we conclude “partnership in the name of a common goal” with deputies.

The words of the acting governor about cooperation with deputies were heard against the backdrop of a political scandal associated with the mass detentions of protesters during the coordinated May Day procession. Recall that the guilt for the acceleration of the procession in the Committee on Legality and the Law and the Law enforcement was assigned to the demonstrators themselves: "Provocateurs, including opposition deputies."

Thus, the leader of the “Growth Party” faction, Oksana Dmitrieva, who harshly criticized the policy of the previous city government, this time sharply changed his tonality and expressed his admiration for the financial policy of Smolny. Dmitrieva did not say anything about the campaign to discredit her colleague in the Maxim Reznik faction, which has not stopped for the second week on the pages of the city’s control administration.

The only one who translated the dialogue from the acting governor into a political plane was Boris Vishnevsky, a deputy from Yabloko. The word was given to him in the very least, the speaker of Zaksa Vyacheslav Makarov emphasized especially: "According to the regulations, the time of the break, but I give the opportunity to ask a question." Vishnevsky asked Beglov whether he was ready to apologize to the Petersburgers for mass detentions during the coordinated May Day procession.

Answering the question, the acting governor decided not to focus on those citizens who ended up in the gas stations, but on those who had to endure “inconvenience” because of the sake of the marching of Nevsky Prospekt. “We went to this [streets of the streets], realizing that there is an appropriate request, reacted with respect, and the townspeople, too,” the acting governor drew attention.
