At the Krasnoselsky police department, a report was drawn up against human rights activist Lev Ponomarev for repeated violation of the rules of the action (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) due to the gathering “In Defense of the New Generation,” public defender Irina Yatsenko told OVD-Info.
At the same time, the protocol says that since the participants in the gathering prevented pedestrians from walking along the sidewalk, Ponomarev’s actions should be regarded as an offense under Part 3 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code. But, since the human rights activist has a decision that has entered into force in another administrative case under the article on violation of the rules of the action (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences), they qualify his actions under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
Ponomarev was one of the applicants of the gathering at the FSB building on Lubyanka on May 13 in support of those involved in the cases of “Network”, “New Greatness” and others persecuted for political reasons. He was not detained on the day of the protest.
