Primorye: Environmentalists require the release of killer whales at their habitat

Greenpeace activists of Russia demanded the reactration of the wanders and beluga, which are contained in the so -called "whale prison" in Primorye, and release animals in the place of catch. Ecologists in inflatable boats and kayaki deployed 150 meters from the aviary of banners “free, and not throw it away” and “no whale prisons”, as well as a thirty -meter poster “freedom to the whales”.

The reason for the action was the statement of the local authorities that the braids could be released not at their habitat, but in the Middle Bay, where the "whale prison" is located. Transportation of 10 animals to the Chanarta Islands can cost about 100 million rubles, and the authorities do not yet have that kind of money.

Environmentalists believe that the release of killer whales directly in the bay will expose animals to risk. “Perhaps all this is done so that the whales do not sail from the bay and it was possible to safely say that they will not be able to survive in wild conditions, and then sell to the Chinese oceanariums,” suggested Greenpeace expert Oganes Targulian.

Killeds are going to release free rein in May or June. When 87 beluga is released, it is unknown. The Ministry of Natural Resources will not exclude that they will spend another winter in Kitov Prison, according to the Greenpeace website.
