In the new version of the rating of 2000 largest public companies in the world according to Forbes, there was no place for three large Russian companies. Now there are 22 companies from Russia in the list, but there are still four of them in the first hundred.
Who is at the top. The first place in the top for the seventh year is occupied by the Chinese bank ICBC. In the top 10, there are five Chinese companies (all financial), American (JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Apple and Wells Fargo) - four. In ninth position is Shell from the Netherlands.
What's in general. The rating includes companies from 61 countries, but more than a quarter of them were in the United States, 309 - in China and Hong Kong. The third largest number of companies is Japan. Back in 2003, there were 776 American companies, and only 43 Hong Kong companies. Russia is comparable to countries such as Brazil and Spain in terms of the number of companies in the top 2000, and is inferior, for example, to India.
