The police gained access to the contents of navalnyshop mail in the case of libel against Usmanov

Investigators of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow, as part of a criminal libel case (Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code), initiated at the request of businessman Alisher Usmanov, received access to the contents of the mail navalnyshop@bk.ru. It is reported by RBC with reference to the materials of the criminal case.

The authenticity of the materials was confirmed by the correspondent of the Rosbalt agency Alexander Shvarev, who is a witness in the case. Security forces seized Mail.ru Group in March. In addition to navalnyshop@bk.ru, they gained access to two of Shvarev's mailboxes.

The document says that investigators found in Shvarev's mail "information relevant to the criminal case." RBC claims that they considered such materials data on the indictment in the case of Colonel of the Investigative Committee Mikhail Maksimenko, which speaks of his connection with the case of deputy Andrei Skoch. The contents of the mailbox navalnyshop@bk.ru are not mentioned in the protocol, since it was decided to study it later.

Navalny's press secretary, Kira Yarmysh, told RBC that the mailbox had nothing to do with Navalny or his headquarters store. She said that she knew nothing about the seizure of letters. A representative of the press service of Mail.ru Group told the publication that the security forces can receive correspondence only by court order, and the company does not disclose the details of decisions on specific cases.

Usmanov filed a lawsuit for the protection of honor and dignity against Navalny in 2017. He disputed a number of statements from his film "He is not Dimon to you." The Lublin Court of Moscow ruled that Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation should remove the film. Later, the Moscow City Court allowed to remove only those fragments that the businessman disputed. Usmanov sought to remove information that the transfer of land through the Sotsgosproekt fund was allegedly a bribe to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

In April of this year, searches were carried out in Rosbalt, they were connected with Usmanov's libel lawsuit. During them, three system blocks with information on the case of criminal authority Shakro Molodoy (Zakharia Kalashov) were seized. Prior to that, in December last year, Moscow's Basmanny Court ordered the removal of three articles on the Russian Criminal website alleging that Usmanov was connected to a crime boss case. Shvarev also talked about searches in his apartments.
