TV presenter and former Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak will become the general producer of the Super TV channel, two sources in the Gazprom-Media holding told Vedomosti. Sobchak did not answer Vedomosti’s calls. She, along with other general producers, will be involved in the program content of the channel and take part in projects for the entertainment television segment of Gazprom-Media. “Super” already has four general producers, these are the co-founders of the production company Yellow, Black and White Eduard Iloyan, Vitaly Shlyappko, Alexey Trotsyuk and Denis Zhalinsky.

Sobchak headed the Russian L'Officiel in 2014, when the rights to its publication were acquired by a businessman and one of the sponsors of her future presidential campaign, Alexander Fedotov (previously owned the Russian version of Forbes, but sold the magazine last year due to financial problems). She left the post of editor-in-chief in December 2018, and in March 2019 she admitted that the publisher still had not paid her salary arrears.

In 2018, Sobchak ran for the presidency of Russia. She scored 1.68% of the vote and took fourth place after Vladimir Putin, Pavel Grudinin (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) and Vladimir Zhirinovsky (LDPR). Sobchak was ahead of two rivals - Grigory Yavlinsky and Boris Titov. During her participation in the presidential race, Sobchak suspended her duties as editor-in-chief of L'Officiel.

Before this, Sobchak worked on television channels and radio stations over the years as a presenter and author of programs. Having started her television career with the reality show “Dom-2” on TNT, Sobchak eventually moved on to hosting socio-political programs and talk shows (“State Department with Ksenia Sobchak” on MTV, “Sobchak Live” on the Dozhd TV channel). At the beginning of 2019, the TV presenter launched a show on YouTube, in which she interviews show business stars.

“Super” is a federal entertainment television channel launched by the Gazprom-Media holding on January 1, 2018. It is positioned as a family television channel of romantic comedies, its target audience is viewers from 14 to 44 years old. The basis of the channel’s network is the content of the production company Yellow, Black and White, for example the series “Fitness”, “IP Pirogova”, “Psychotype”, “Creators”, “Off the Game”.
