Human rights activist: Judges arrested protests in Yekaterinburg under threat of dismissal

The judges of the Userta court of Yekaterinburg made decisions on cases against the defenders of the square near the Drama Theater under the threat of dismissal. This was reported to the "MBH Media" by human rights activist Nikita Tomilov with reference to one of the judges of the Verkh-Isetsky Court.

According to Tomilov, he has no right to call the name of the judge, because it will be a violation of the judicial ethics. “I caught her in the corridor without a mantle, we talked with her and she admitted that they were given an installation from above that administrative arrests should be given,” said Tomilov.

So, the judge said that the judges did not retire to the deliberation room, since the decisions on cases were already known and they could only be voiced.

“We write these decisions, realizing that the guys have no offense. We have no way out. In the morning, the chairman of the court threatened us with dismissal if we act differently. We are afraid to lose work. If we could act differently, believe me, would act, ”Judge Tomilov retold.

Protests against the construction of the temple at the site of the square in Yekaterinburg take several months. Since May 13, the situation has aggravated. By May 15, the security forces detained about 58 people. The detainees made protocols on participation in an unauthorized action and hooliganism. About 30 people were arrested. The detainees talked about beating, including minors. The day before, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Sverdlovsk Region, Tatyana Merzlyakova, said that most protocols on the detainees were drawn up according to one scheme.
