Spaceh brought into orbit the first 60 satellites for the global Internet system Starlink

SpaceX launched the Falcon 9 launch vehicle, which brought 60 satellites into orbit as part of the Starlink global Internet program. SpaceX reported this on her twitter.

The rocket will bring satellites to a height of 440 kilometers, but they will work at an altitude of 550 kilometers. They will get to the orbits with the help of engines. Each satellite weighs 227 kilograms, their total mass is 13.6 tons. The total mass of the rocket cargo was 18.5 tons.

The launch of the rocket occurred from the Cosmodrome at Cape Canaveral on May 24 at 05:30 Moscow time. Spaceh planned to launch Falcon 9 on May 17, but postponed twice: first due to bad weather, then, due to the need to double-check the equipment systems.

SpaceX began work on the Starlink project since the end of 2014. The program should provide the entire planet with the Internet using a network of orbital satellites. In total, they plan to deliver 12 thousand devices weighing from 100 to 500 kilograms by 2024 to orbit. In February, the company sent test satellites to orbit.
