Billionaire Avdeev invested in the Postnauka project

The businessman will invest 100 million rubles and become a co-founder of the publishing house Ksenia Boletskaya

A new stage is beginning in the history of one of the most prominent educational organizations in Russia, the Postnauka publishing house. The owner of the Moscow Credit Bank ( MCB ), famous philanthropist and educator Roman Avdeev will invest 100 million rubles. in the development of Postnauka and will become a co-founder of this publishing house, the media company reported. Avdeev’s representative confirmed this to Vedomosti.

Postnauka was founded in 2012 as an educational website about science. The founder of Postnauka, Ivar Maksutov, confirmed to Vedomosti that Avdeev will become his equal partner.

Now the Publishing House "Postnauka" includes the online publication of the same name, the communication agency "Postnauka.Specials", the English-language publication "Serious Science", the event division "Postnauka.Academy" and the book project "Postnauka Library". The overwhelming majority of the publishing house’s revenue comes from partnership projects with companies such as Sberbank , Yandex , Rusnano , Skoltech, Maksutov specified.

“Postnauka” reached self-sufficiency already in the second year after its launch, back in 2013, says Maksutov, but the publishing house does not have enough resources for experiments, for the implementation of new ideas, for the creation of more projects not only for partners, but also for users.

“I have been following Postnauka for a long time and believe that Ivar and his team have created an outstanding project that allows real scientists to speak directly to the widest audience in an understandable language,” Avdeev’s words are quoted in the message.

The priority of the updated “Postnauka” will be the formation of an active community of subscribers and the creation of an educational service in the logic of lifelong education (continuous education), the message clarifies.

According to Forbes , Avdeev is among the top 100 richest businessmen in Russia; the magazine estimates his fortune at $1.5 billion. His main assets are the Moscow Credit Bank, the Ingrad development company, and the Torpedo Moscow football club. There are 23 children in the Avdeev family. He is the founder of the Arithmetic of Good Foundation, which deals with the problems of social orphanhood in Russia. In 2018, he founded the ANO Laboratory of Educational Projects.
