TASS: In Moscow, the son of a former senator shot a policeman by car

The police detained Timur Ganalyamov, the son of an ex-Senator from the Amur Region Amir Gallamov, who shot down an employee of the traffic police in Moscow by car, told TASS a source in the department.

The report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs says that at about three in the morning on May 26 the police stopped the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 car on Kutuzovsky Prospekt. During the verification of documents, the driver unexpectedly tried to leave.

The traffic police crew at the traffic light caught up with the young man, however, when the employees tried to detain him, the offender sharply turned the steering wheel to the right and ran into one of the police officers. After that, the driver again tried to get away from the chase, but he was soon detained. The wounded policeman with a fracture of the lower leg was taken to the hospital.

The Investigative Committee instituted a criminal case against the driver about the use of violence life -threatening and health to a representative of the authorities (part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). Gableamov can face up to ten years of imprisonment.

The father of the detainee, Amir Gallamov, served as a senator from the Amur Region in 2007-2012.
