Transneft should independently bear financial responsibility for the situation with the Druzhba export oil pipeline, said First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov. So he answered the question of whether the threshold of Transneft dividends could be reduced due to the situation with Friendship, Interfax reports.

"You want to say that the state pays for the jambs of the company that is engaged in the supply of oil? It seems to me that this is not entirely right," he told reporters. According to Siluanov, a decrease in the dividend threshold will be a kind of compensation from the budget for the shortcomings of the company, "which has not fulfilled its contract obligations for the supply of quality oil."

In turn, the adviser to the president of the company and the transneft spokesman Igor Demin said that the company did not ask and is not going to ask the government to allow it to reduce the amount of dividends. Such a decision was previously confirmed at a meeting of the board of directors.

Demin recalled that in the case of oil pollution the investigation recognized the “transneft” by the victim. “I consider it necessary to recall when the car of the first deputy minister of finance of Russia Andrei Vavilov was blown up several years ago next to the ministry’s building, no one called it a“ jamb in the work of the Ministry of Finance. ”I believe that in this case Anton Siluanov was focused on the information distributed by Transneft's universities,” he said.

Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak stated that the government, when deciding on the dividends of Transneft, intends to take into account the payment of compensation due to oil pollution in the Druzhba export pipeline, which led to a transit to Europe. On May 27, Minister of Energy Alexander Novak told reporters that the issue of reducing Transneft dividends for 2018 is being studied.
