The Ministry of Justice suspended the activities of the Council of Teips of the Ingush people
The Ministry of Justice suspended the activities of the Council of Teips of the Ingush people for two months. This was reported by MBH Media with reference to the acting head of the association Murad Daskiev.
According to Daskiev, the only reason for such a decision was the appeal of members of the association to deputies not to adopt a law on the alienation of part of the lands of Ingushetia in favor of Ossetia. The activist noted that the Council of teips continues to work.
The FortangaORG telegram channel published a decree of the Ministry of Justice dated May 22, stating that the Council of Teips did not eliminate the violations that were revealed during an unscheduled inspection in February. The document does not indicate what violations are in question.
The Ministry of Justice also issued a warning to the activists that the appeal of the Council of Teips to the deputies of Ingushetia violates the requirements of Russian law. The warning also contains the appeal of the Council itself.
“We, members of the Council of teips of the Ingush people, declare to you, deputies of the People’s Assembly of the Republic of Ingushetia, that neither we nor our teips give you permission to adopt a law alienating the Prigorodny district and other Ingush lands in favor of North Ossetia or other subjects of the Russian Federation. We assure you that all the deputies who voted for the adoption of the law will be cursed by the Ingush people and will receive retribution from the Great Allah for this hostile activity, ”the Union of Teips cites the Ministry of Justice.
FortangaORG reports that the Ministry of Justice in 2017 already tried to liquidate the Council of teips, suing them to the Supreme Court of Ingushetia and pointing out 18 violations. The Supreme Court ultimately recognized the arguments of the Ministry of Justice as unfounded and refused to liquidate the association.

After that, mass protests began in Ingushetia demanding that the agreement be declared illegal and that a referendum be held. The protests lasted for about a month.

After a two-day action on March 26–27, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on incitement to riots (part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code) and the use of violence against police officers (part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code). In total, 26 defendants are involved in this case, including the chairman of the Council of Teips of the Ingush people, Malsag Uzhakhov.
