In Irkutsk, unknown persons attacked five volunteers distributing the newspaper "Civil Position" in the Akademgorodok district. The newspaper is dedicated to politics and was published by the former coordinator of Navalny's regional headquarters, Sergei Bespalov, who plans to run as an MP for the area. Bespalov himself told OVD-Info about this.

Around 8 pm local time, unidentified individuals tore out the newspapers from the volunteer and Sergei Gorkunov. Then these same people tried to snatch newspapers from Zakhar Sarapulov and Pavel Chernukhin. The volunteers refused to do so, and the unknown began to strike them in the face. According to Bespalov, Sarapulov probably has a concussion. Chernukhin's lip and nose are broken. Gorkunov filmed the attackers and then tried to catch up with them, but they fled. After some time, unknown people attacked volunteer Mikhail, who also distributed newspapers. They took away his printed materials, tried to drag him into the car, then pushed the man hard several times and disappeared. According to Bespalov, Mikhail watched the video of the attack on other activists and said that he was attacked by other people.

“We made a newspaper before the elections - about politics. Without agitation, because it is still prohibited. It was handed out by my volunteers, most of whom are volunteers from Navalny's headquarters. This is the first time we went to the district to distribute a newspaper,” says Bespalov.
