Russian distributors cut out scenes from the film "Rocketman" - but the favorite of Cannes already had an "adult" rating

The musical film "Rocketman" about Elton John director Dexter Fletcher at the Russian rental was censored. Of both versions - duplicated and with subtitles - cut scenes of intimacy between men, reduced episodes associated with drug use. The slide of the final credits also disappeared, which stated that John nevertheless met his true love (there was a photo with his wife).

A picture of a difficult path to Olympus Windoderkind, with ups and falls, personal crashes, adultery, immoderate hopes - was shot according to the script Lee Hall. The main role was played by Teron Edgerton. And his work is above all praise.

And here is the film, which has earned a long ovation in Cannes, the support of Elton John himself, in Russia, highly moral distributors decided to “correct”.

The representative of the Central Partnership Supervisor company confirmed that the amendments were made by explaining this by the requirement of the law.

Which is quite strange. After all, the film has a rating - 18+.

The Russian representative office Paramount Pictures, apparently, did not mind these violent interventions and abbreviations of the author’s version of the film. The Ministry of Culture said that the department did not give any recommendations on the removal of scenes. “This is exclusively the decision of the company-a tape distributor,” the press service said.

Most likely, the distributors, removing the gay scenes, wanted to kill two birds with one stone at once: to appease the authorities and expand the target audience, mixing the scandalous of the picture.

The network of Moscow cinemas Pioneer promises to show the original version of the film - the corresponding proposal has already been sent to the local distributor "Central Partnership".

It seems that Russia is approaching China in an effort to dose for the viewer an indefatigable author’s fantasy, invading the territory of the author’s plan.

From the actress in the plot of the scene, one head remained. Representatives of subcultures are not welcomed on TV, especially the tattoos.

• The objectionable authorities of the characters, like Winnie Poh, are simply soaked in spots. And the audience is already used to it.

• We are at the beginning of the journey. But Russian distributors have already begun to make adjustments to Russian versions of foreign films that may seem inappropriate. MEGOGO Distribution, for example, in the film "Hellboy" replaced in the picture the name of Stalin with a "less traumatic" name - Hitler.
