Transneft has criticized the statement by Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, who said that oil contamination in the Druzhba pipeline is damaging the Russian oil industry.
Transneft called Sechin’s words about consumers being forced to replace Russian oil with other routes untrue.
The company emphasized that in the first five months of 2019, oil exports to non-CIS countries via the Transneft system increased by 3.1 million tons.
Transneft added that Rosneft employees need to “more carefully and objectively prepare information for their manager’s public appearances.”
Update. In response to Transneft's statement, Rosneft suggested that the company "solve the problem" rather than hold a public discussion. Rosneft asked Transneft "to fulfill the terms of the transportation contract and deliver oil of the proper quality to our consumers, rather than reflect."
