The governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov plans to visit the protest camp of eco -activists opposing the construction of the garbage training ground at the ShiES station in the Lensky district. It is assumed that this will happen during June. This was announced by "7x7" by the press secretary of the governor Artyom Botygin .
- I can't say the exact date. The trip is planned. You yourself understand that there is public discontent, there are clashes in the last days, so you also need to understand that the arrival of the governor can provoke any other actions. We hope that there will be a good moment when everything will be more or less calm when activists are ready to meet and constructive conversation. In the near future this trip will happen. This is not the next two weeks, because we will go to the forum in St. Petersburg, ”Botygin said.
The Rain TV channel on June 4 said that the press center of the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region does not have information about the clashes of activists and the police in the protest camp at the ShIES station.
In the commentary “7x7”, Botygin said that the government is aware of clashes in the camp, but we are talking about conflicts between activists and employees of a private security enterprise who are on duty at the landfill. On the clashes with the police, according to the press secretary, there is no question:
- The police are there to protect public order, and according to our data, activists have no clashes with the police. They delay those who, in their opinion, violate the order. [How does the government evaluate the fact that the security company applies power to activists?] The government cannot comment on this, the assessment should be given by law enforcement agencies.
Since the end of May, employees of a private security company have conflicts with activists. The police detain several people a day, and the ambulance takes the victims. The guards refuse to comment, referring to the fact that they are prohibited to answer any questions.
On June 4, activists saw that construction security was restoring the fence previously dismantled by activists, and tried to interfere with this. There was a clash with the protection of construction and the police. The police detained seven people, they were taken away by train from Shies.
On May 30, eco -defenders were preparing to clash with construction guards and the police - on the eve they received a notification that they should turn their camp, since work was planned in this territory. The demolition of the camp did not occur. On the morning of May 31, the camp occurred , and a helicopter flew in the afternoon with the spokesman for the governor of the Arkhangelsk region and journalists from Arkhangelsk and Komi.
In the evening of May 29, clashes occurred between eco -defenders and employees of Chop on ShiES - activists tried to prevent the unloading of building materials and demolition of one of the posts.
The construction of a landfill for garbage from Moscow in Shies began in July 2018, it is being built by the Moscow company Technopark. In December 2018, activists organized a 24 -hour camp (ecovakhta) to monitor the progress of construction work in Shies. Residents of the Arkhangelsk region, Komi, Urdom and volunteers from different cities of Russia are on duty. Activists record violations during construction and try to prevent construction work. Several times, conflicts took place between activists and the guards of the landfill - eco -defenders were beaten when they tried to prevent the unloading of materials for the construction or transportation of fuel.
