A rally in Kharkov

Today in Kharkov, opposite the building of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, a rally was held related to the murder of a five -year -old boy near Kiev.

The audience demanded to resign the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.

I learned about the rally quite by accident, seeing an ad on Facebook. I was interested to visit him, as well as compare with rallies held in Russia.

The rally was not agreed in advance. About 150 people came to him. There were representatives of the Freedom party (*), the Right Sector (*) and others.

At the entrance there were no metal -meters, frames, checks. At the same time, there were enough police officers. The organizers calmly used sound amiculation.

Initially, they turned on the anthem of Ukraine - many those present at that moment put their hand to their hearts - unlike the police, who stood silently and watched what was happening. The microphone was mainly "free." One of the speakers was a boy for about five years. He asked only one question: "Police, why are you killing children?"

Periodically, people shouted slogans, which in Russia would be called nationalist. All speeches were in Ukrainian, despite the fact that Kharkov is Russian -speaking.

Some police who came near the walls of the police builded flowers with pencils and a toy machine. Later, two men glued posters near the entrance to the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Nobody detained them, the police stood nearby and simply watched. It is especially surprising for me, since more recently in Yaroslavl, local media were blocked for the news about the offensive graffiti in the building of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In the end, part of the protesters began to shout to the police insult, but even then the police simply watched aside. Sharp enough, this would definitely not have shouted in Russia. At the feet of the police, protesters laid out pencils and felt -tip pens.

Aside, young girls and masked guys held a poster with the inscription "Avakoff". The police here does not ask to remove the masks. The girls were asked why they were masked - they replied that they were afraid of Avakov ..

Before turning the flags, the organizers again turned on the anthem. Some sang him, even more people held a hand at the heart ...

The rally was peacefully. For me it was enthusiastic. It is very cool when people in a free country can gather peacefully and say what they think. At the same time without obvious political slogans. There was a moment when one of the speakers began to talk a lot about politics, and he was asked to finish the performance politely.

On May 31, in the Kyiv region, drunken police officers shot a five -year -old boy. The child walked in the yard when the drunk police decided to shoot at iron banks from firearms.

A few days later, June 3, the child died in the hospital. The prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case, which was retrained in Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Intentional Murder”).
