
Most often, residents of Siberia and the Far East complain of the environmental situation in their cities. In general, about half of the inhabitants of Russia call the state of ecology in their city or region unsatisfactory. This was reported on June 4 by TASS agency with reference to a survey of the analytical center of the National Agency for Financial Research (Nafi).
According to the survey, the opinions of the inhabitants of Russia were divided almost in half. 50% consider the environmental situation in their city or a prosperous region, and 48% are dissatisfied with it. Among the main negative factors affecting the environment, the survey participants named emissions from road transport and industrial enterprises, as well as an increased noise level.

According to the center, the survey was conducted in April -May 2019. 1600 people from the age of 18 from 150 settlements located in 50 regions of Russia were interviewed. The statistical error of the study does not exceed 3.4%.
On April 18, residents of Vladivostok conducted a flash mob in defense of ecology. Activists put on gas masks and arranged an impromptu photo shoot in areas where an open coal transshipment is being carried out. So activists tried to draw attention to the deterioration of ecology in the Primorsky Territory.
On February 25, the police in the Kemerovo region opened a criminal case on the fact of the loss of coal dust and air pollution in the city of Kiselevsk. The police conducted a preliminary investigation and found an enterprise, which, according to preliminary data, was a source of pollution of the atmosphere.
At the end of January, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Trans -Baikal Territory took the first position in the country in air pollution. In the ten leaders of the rating, half of the places were taken by the regions of Siberia and the Far East. The second place in the ranking was taken by the Republic of Khakassia, in addition to it, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Sakhalin and Kemerovo regions were in the top 10.
In December 2018, the Irkutsk region was in third place from the end of the rating of the environmental situation and the last of all regions of Siberia and the Far East.
