Acceptance of applications for participation in the initiative Meet and Code is opened

From June 6 to October 21, 2019, Russia is undergoing preparations for the European Code Week. The teams of non -profit organizations will hold events at which children and adolescents will be able to get acquainted with new technologies. The best events will be marked with a cash prize.

Non -profit organizations should reveal the potential of the participants and interest them in the study of programming. There are no restrictions on the format of events. It can be a hacaton, a seminar, a master class, a competition, lectures, watching films, competitions, codes, classes in robotics.

The main task is to unite children and youth from 8 to 24 years old and inspire them to develop digital technologies in the world. Selected events will receive financing in the amount of up to 28,000 rubles. The application must be submitted until September 8, 2019.

Financing projects and events is carried out as part of the international initiative of Meet and Code . The initiators of the week are the manufacturer of SAP software, a greenhouse of social technologies , as well as the TechSouP Europe network.

The goal of Meet and Code is to help children and adolescents master the digital skills necessary in the modern world. In addition to Russia, the initiative supports programming measures in Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Switzerland and other countries.

Selection criteria and ideas for events

Events are evaluated in the following four categories: "Girls, program!" (Girls do it!), “Community” (Community), “Diversity” and “Coding for the planet” (Code for the Planet). In addition, the audience can vote for his favorite event, which will be awarded the prize of the audience sympathies (Public Choice Award).

Each of the five victorious events will receive a cash prize of 2000 €. Two representatives of the non-profit organization that organized the finalists will be invited to the HEC End Prize, which will be held in early 2020 in Europe.

Requirements for events

• The theme of the event should be directly related to programming and technologies.
• The event should be held as part of the European programming week from October 5 to 20, 2019.
• At least 20 people should take part in it: children and adolescents aged 8 to 24 years.
• The event should be free for all participants.

Private persons can also hold an event, but in order to obtain funding, they need to attract a non -profit organization to partnership.
