The court in Poland ordered priests to transfer documents in the case of pedophilia to the investigation

In the Polish city of Poznan, the court ordered the local Catholic Church to issue documents to investigators regarding the case of molestation of a minor to one of the priests, TASS reports with reference to Gazeta Wyborcza. A few years ago, a man named Shimon, who became a victim of a pedophile priest, stated this, after which his offender was deprived of the dignity, recalls the publication.

Investigators who continued to conduct a high -profile case requested that the clergy are related to his documents, but received a refusal to maintain professional secrets. The court rejected this argument.

"There were three points in the decree of the prosecutor. In the first, Archbishop Stanislav Gondetsky and his subordinates were exempted from the obligation to preserve professional secrets. In subsequent points, the prosecutor demanded the issuance of documents and ordered the archbishop to send them to the prosecutor’s office within seven days. The court left this decision and it entered into force," the newspaper Vyborch quoted " Press Secretary of the District Court in Poznan John the Cheselskaya-Borovets.

In March, the conference of the Bishop of Poland submitted data on pedophilia in the Polish Catholic Church.

Since 1990, 382 applications for the sexual use of minors have been recorded in the country, 198 of them relate to children under 15 years of age and 184 - over 15 years old. At the same time, it is admitted that many such cases have been silent and continue to be silent.
