On March 31, right in the center of Magnitogorsk, this man beat the journalist of the Magnitogorsk Metal newspaper Mikhail Skuridin. The journalist fell into a coma and died a month after a month and a half.

- It was about 13.00. Misha and I left home, each about his own business. He had to buy batteries and go to the pharmacy. I am to buy a cake, ”recalls the wife of Mikhail Natalya Skuridina. - I went to cook by car. We missed him literally for five minutes. I was driving along Voroshilov Street, and near house number 1 I saw that a man was lying on the sidewalk and people were standing near him. I recognized my husband, threw the car, ran to him. He was unconscious. The people gathered around him told me that some man hit him on the head. I hit and disappeared on the silver Kia Sportage. Nobody saw the number because it was dirty. After a while, the husband came into consciousness. He did not remember what happened. He spoke normally and wanted to get up.

The ambulance arrived quickly. Mikhail, despite the requests of his wife, refused to be hospitalized. Together with Natalia, they went home. Michael went to bed. In the evening he felt worse: speech disappeared, vomiting began.

- I called an ambulance again. Misha no longer spoke, panicked, but refused hospitalization. I asked the doctors to pick him up, said that he had a injury to his head, that he did not think. But they said that they could not put him in the hospital without his consent. Later I learned that in such cases, doctors can call an ambulance. But for some reason they did not call her.

Mikhail managed to hospitalize only the next day. Doctors diagnosed him with multiple bruises of the brain. On April 2, the journalist had to be introduced into the medical unit.

Simultaneously with the struggle for her husband’s life, Natalia helped the police in the search for the attacker.

- In the evenings, I drove through the quarters and looked for silver Sportage parked near houses. All the numbers of the cars found were thrown away by the police. The police, however, communicated with me very dosed. I asked how many Sportage owners have already been verified - they did not answer. I asked how the investigation was going on, in response: "We are working." The case materials were not shown to me.

Mikhail’s colleagues for Magnitogorsk metal did not see the case materials.

- We learned about what happened to Mikhail, only two days after the attack. He was on vacation, and for another week we did not wait for him at work, ”says Oleg Frolov, editor -in -chief of the publication. - Doctors called us, told that he was in the hospital. We immediately contacted the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Magnitogorsk. They said that the work is going on, operational measures are being held.

According to Oleg Frolov, the attack on Mikhail Skuridin was not related to his professional activities. In the newspaper, he was responsible for car topics.

On May 20, Mikhail Skuridin died. The case materials about the attack on him were transferred from the police to the Investigative Committee. The attack itself qualified under Part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of the victim by negligence” - up to 15 years in prison.
