Lieutenant Colonel Marat Medoev is a hereditary Chekist. His father, Hero of Russia Igor Medoev, on the air of the First Channel, was called the personality of the legendary, one of the creators of the special forces in the Russian army.

Medoev Sr.-a native of North Ossetia and is greatly respected in a small homeland. On his example, patriots are brought up in the republic. In the brochure, “Heroes of Russia are natives of Ossetia,” he is in the first place. There is his biography there: since 1992, he worked in the FSB Office in North Ossetia, since 1996 he served in the FSB Special Sentence Center, and since 2001 he worked as an assistant to the Minister of Defense. In the biography of Medoev Sr., it is not mentioned that in the past he worked in a tax with Anatoly Serdyukov. According to former FSB officers, Serdyukov helped some Chekists in career growth (for example, Viktor Voronin, the former head of the FSB banking department and the former leader of the colonels arrested on charges of corruption, Kirill Cherkalin and Dmitry Frolov).
From a brochure with the mention of Medoev
“The 90s of the last century will remain a“ black ”page in the history of our homeland. Our great Soviet power fell apart. Years later, when the true goals of foreign “well -wishers” were revealed, for which the struggle against the communist system was only a screen to dismember the country and its maximum weakening, the leadership of the new Russia took a decisive course to restore patriotic education. ”The Medovy family does not seem to think that Russia is "a fortress in the ring of enemies." Otherwise, it is difficult to explain the fact that since 2009 it has firmly settled in the center of the European Union.

Marat Medeva’s mother, Irina, opened Medeva in Bratislava when her husband was still an assistant to the Minister of Defense. Judging by the documents, she is engaged in real estate management. Since 2011, Medoev’s father and his wife have become the owners of a country house in the town of Lumba, not far from Bratislava, where wealthy Slovaks live. According to the Slovak press, for example, the former president of the country Ivan Gasparovich settled there.
Our colleagues from the Center for Investigative Journalism in Slovakia ICJK talked with three real estate experts, according to their estimates, the Honey House can cost from 250 thousand euros, however, much depends on the interior decoration, the price can be higher - up to 600 thousand euros. At the same time, all his life Medoev Sr. worked in the state security organs, his wife does not own large business in Russia, and his son works in the FSB.
Another villa with a pool is located near the Medovy House, which belongs to their daughter Maya and her husband Peter Ovsyannikov.

In Russia, he is the director of the state institution - the control and accounting service of the Moscow Department of Labor and Social Protection. And until 2017 he worked in the family business - he headed the Slovak company Medeva. But not only her. From 2013 to 2017, the son -in -law of Medoev Ovsyannikov was the director of another curious Slovak company with Russian roots - Ivera Invest. The owner of this company Svetlana Andrianova and her entire family (Oleg Andrianov and Alexander Andrianov) in Russia is connected with the largest supplier of special shoes for law enforcement agencies - the company Faraday. In the suburbs of Bratislava Andrianov - the neighbors of the honey.

Over the past few years, Faraday has received state contracts from Russian security forces more than 11 billion rubles. Moreover, out of 153 contracts, information about which is on the public procurement website, 106 is concluded according to the purchase procedure from a single supplier - that is, without competition. Why do power departments buy shoes and not even try to find a seller who will offer the best price?
The procurement documentation does not always have an answer to this question. For example, the military unit of the FSB purchases for its troops a boots with high berets and boots combined from the company Faraday without a competition, referring simply to the decision of the management.
It is curious to read how the FSB determined the fair price for products: the department sent a request to five suppliers who have experience in supplying such goods, chose three offers with the lowest prices and entered into a contract with a company that offered the lowest price.
It would seem that everything is fine. But all five companies in which the FSB coped of the price belong to the same Andrianov family who own the Faradey.
Andrianov has long been making shoes for law enforcement agencies. And in some markets - they are monopolists. In 2015, the government issued an order and appointed Faraday the only supplier of shoes for the needs of the entire Ministry of Internal Affairs for a period of two years. In 2017, the monopoly was extended for another couple of years - this time for the Russian Guard. These are very short documents in just two points, there is no explanation of why all the shoes for the Russian police, and then the guards will supply one company.

The New Gazeta sent requests to the Federal Security Service and the Russian government, they could not quickly answer there.
Players in the military uniform market, however, say that the specifics of working with law enforcement agencies is such that the restriction of competition can be forced. “The production of shoes for the military is actually a rather difficult and expensive process. When the task is to put people in war, competition for lowering the price is probably not the best way to choose a supplier, ”says Oleg Savin, creator of Gear Craft, which is engaged in uniforms for power organs. - Writing a technical task that will cut off unscrupulous manufacturers is a difficult task in itself. In some departments, this problem is solved with the help of technical advice. In the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Guard, however, there are no such technical councils. ”
Andrianov companies are mastering new markets: for example, last year another company belongs to the family - “INII in the field of production of special and military shoes” began supplying winter boots for inspectors of the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate (MADI), the company concluded 6 million rubles from MADI. Until recently, Yuri Ovsyannikov, the father of Madi, was the father of Peter Ovsyannikov, who is married to the sister of Marat Medoev. However, it should be noted that contracts with MADI were received after Ovsyannikov Sr. left Madi to work in the Crimean Ministry of Transport.
In Russia, Maya Ovsyannikova (Medoeva) owned half of the Avtotekhentr Sokol company, which was liquidated in 2015. But the business partner of Sister Marat Medev in this company - Vladimir Konovalov did not remain deprived of the state contracts. Konovalov fully owns the Technic Center Sokol, which from 2015 to 2017 received more than 2 million rubles from the Federal Security Service of Moscow in Moscow and the Moscow Region, according to SPARK. His company was engaged in maintenance and repair of the FSB cars. In a conversation with Novaya, Konovalov confirmed that his company in the past provided UFSB repair services for car repair, but could not remember Medova.
Earlier, the Foundation for the fight against corruption of Alexei Navalny found real estate of the Medev family for a billion rubles in Russia. And also found out that Igor Medoev leases the building with the same administrative traffic police, which until recently was headed by his Swear.
Journalists of the Investigative Center of Slovakia ICJK visited the suburban house of the Medovy near Bratislava and met the owners themselves there. According to European tradition, the house is not surrounded by a high fence, as is customary for generals in Russia. When asked about the connection of his son with the case of Russian journalist Ivan Golunov, Igor Medoev answered with a calm smile in the Slovak language, albeit with a strong Russian accent. He said that neither he nor his son had anything to do with the arrest of a journalist. “My son does not even know what Ivan Kolunov looks like. He was on vacation in Sochi and was very surprised when he read on the Internet that his name was associated with arrest. "
“When I return to Russia, I would like to meet with Golunov and explain that we have nothing to do with it. I will ask him to write that we are not related to his arrest. ”
When asked whether Medoev tried to contact Kolunov, he replied that “if Golunov was now standing in front of him, he would not have recognized him,” and added that “journalists were engaged in fake-nous when they write that his family is somehow involved in.”
Medoev said that he knew the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Vladimir Kolokoltsev very well, and they spent holidays and weekends together. But to the question of whether he tried to find out through his old ties about who could be persecuted by the Russian journalist, Medoev replied that he was not worried. "A person in retirement has the right to relax."
Medoev said that he retired in 2010 and was looking for a beautiful place where he could meet old age. “I like people here, I quickly mastered my language. We spend time here with our grandchildren. ” He also noted that he had reasons to leave Russia.
Medoev said that he bought a house for 250 thousand euros, and received the money from the sale of a cottage in Russia.
He also noted that retired military now has a good pension - 3 thousand euros.
BY THE WAY
The Corruption Foundation previously found out that Medoev Sr. receives more than 2 million rubles a month from the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate for renting an extensions. At the same time, this inspection was headed by his relative.
Medoev Sr. does not deny that he knows the Andrianovs, but claims that the Andrianov is doing business with the FSB. And the transactions with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where the Andrianovs are exclusive suppliers of shoes, do not seem opaque to it. But Medoev refuses to go into details in a conversation with Slovak journalists: "These are our Russian affairs."
