The Khimkinsky City Court of the Moscow Region extended until July 16 a house arrest a member of the Council of Movement in Protection of the Rights of the Voter Roman Plaint in the case of a threat of murder (part 1 of article 119 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the correspondent of Novaya Gazeta from the courtroom.

According to the lawyer of the Uvtut Maxim Pashkov, the chosen preventive measure is illegal: according to Art. 108 of the Criminal Code, house arrest cannot be applied if the person cannot be sentenced to imprisonment.

“According to the interrogator, the arrest is necessary, since NTV employees were very frightened by the threats of a prison. However, in the video, which are attached to the case, it is clear that they themselves run after my client around the store. He does not pose any real danger for them, ”Pashkov said.

“If my criminal activity & is to threaten NTV employees, then write a paper prohibiting me to communicate with them. I will be grateful to you until the end of my life. "

- He said at the meeting, adding that the real meaning of house arrest is to isolate it from society and create obstacles to its activities.

According to the court decision, it is forbidden to leave the apartment with the exception of the appearance of the interrogator’s call, communicate with witnesses in the case and with all the others except relatives and lawyer, use the phone, mail and the Internet.

The criminal case was opened after last March at the Sheremetyevo Udot airport took the phone from the NTV correspondent Alexandra Miroshnichenko. The journalist took off their own prison and persistently asked to comment on his departure abroad.

Udot refused to communicate with NTV pursuing him and shouted to them "I will kill you." According to the lawyer, Udot called the police and wrote a statement about the violation of the inviolability of private life, and the correspondent, in turn, wrote a response to the theft of the phone.

The novel of the Ventut was detained in May 2019, when he himself came to the police upon returning to Russia - for more than a year he was on a business trip abroad. The man announced his readiness to cooperate with the investigation. On May 22, the Khimkinsky City Court of the Moscow Region sent Ventut under house arrest until June 16.
