The girl was killed by lightning in the Kolyvan district

A seventeen -year -old girl died after a lightning strike in the Kolyvan district of the Novosibirsk region. The police went to the place of the tragedy.

The tragedy occurred near the village of Novotyryshkino, Kolyvan district. The call received the police on June 13 at 14:50, Taiga.info told the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Lightning struck the seventeen -year -old girl when she walked from school on the way home in the village of Novotyryshkino. The police went to the scene, the circumstances of the death are established, ”the department said.

An employee of the press service added that lightning attacks in people are quite rare in the Novosibirsk region and recommended that during a thunderstorm, avoid open spaces, water bodies and separate trees.

“At such a time, it is better to wait out bad weather than to go home,” the press service reminded.
