The alleged leader of Kazan neo-Nazis was sentenced to 24.5 years in prison for the murder of a student from the Republic of Chad

The Supreme Court of Tatarstan sentenced Kazan neo-Nazis Ruslan Arkhipov and Roman Khalilov to 24 and 24.5 years in prison for the murder of a student from the Republic of Chad and attacks on visitors. This was reported by an Interfax-Povolzhye correspondent.

The case was considered by a jury. According to investigators, the four accused were members of an extremist neo-Nazi group. Investigators called Khalilov the creator of the community. Adel Askarov and Rostislav Malakhov, who did not participate in the attacks on visitors, received four and three years in prison.

Arkhipov and Khalilov first confessed to several attacks: in 2016 they beat a 40-year-old citizen of Kyrgyzstan, in February 2017 they beat to death a 24-year-old student from the Republic of Chad, and then attacked a 50-year-old native of Afghanistan. However, later all the accused began to deny guilt. The jury found Khalilov and Arkhipov guilty of murdering the student.
