A criminal case was opened against the Chernovik journalist under terrorism charges.

Abdulmumin Hajiyev, a journalist with the Chernovik newspaper, was charged with participation in a terrorist organization (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). This was reported on the MBH-media website with reference to the lawyer Arsen Shabanov.

On the morning of June 14, the house of Hajiyev, who works as the editor of the religion department of Chernovik, was searched. Then he was taken to the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee, where he is now. According to Shabanov, at first they did not want to let him in to see his client, but then they let him in anyway.

A case was opened against him under two articles - assistance to terrorist activities (part 4 of article 205.1) and participation in a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5), writes MBKh Media with reference to lawyer Arsen Shabanov. Hajiyev was sent to a temporary detention facility.

“The decision to initiate a case is an abstract document, nothing is specifically said, neither the time of the crime, nor the place, nor the circumstances, it is simply written in the abstract: he organized a fundraiser to finance ISIS. The questions were only about dating a person whom I had interviewed before, ”said Shabanov.
