Direct speech
About me: " I am a Ukrainian journalist of Russian origin, who has Russian citizenship . "
About politics: “ Politics, like medicine and many other branches of human knowledge, is arranged the same everywhere. It is enough just to understand local realities, history and then you can completely analyze, predict, lay out on the shelves and tell the TV audiences, as Ukrainian politics works. You just need to know the subject, and the laws of political life are the same everywhere. Political science is a science that is equally applicable to Russia, Ukraine, the USA, some kind of African country, Southeast Asia. ”
About freedom: “ Any journalist who knows how to stand up for himself has a sense of dignity, knows how to build relationships with others, including leadership, with media owners - may remain free. Believe me, it's not about the owners, the matter is about us. Once bent - that's it, the lid is for you. " .
About the skill of the journalist: “I really do not like when the independence of the journalist is evaluated by how rudely and in a hamian he asks questions at a press conference or on the air of some television talk show. This is the case that is described by an old proverb: a stupid business is not cunning. But you try to politely, correctly, with the sweetest smile to ask a policy or an official a question - so that only by the end of the answer he understands what trap you lured him to. This is the highest piloting of independent journalism. ”
About the decision to go to work in Ukraine: “ About the middle of 2003, in Russia, in fact, the current government has announced a ban on the profession of a television journalist. After the owners of the TVS television channel, on which I worked, actually decided to close it, no other channel wished to cooperate with me. Therefore, I worked in the print press for several years, on the Echo of Moscow radio, on a small satellite television company RTVI, broadcasting in Russian for spectators living outside Russia-by the way, RTVI programs are very popular in some regions of Ukraine, for example, this, of course, did not bring me the work on a large channel in a serious program entering the PRIM TEM. Therefore, when the Inter TV channel invited me to conduct such a program, I gladly agreed . ”
Viktor Shenderovich, open letter to Evgeny Kiselev: “The capitalization of the opposition brand Evgeny Kiselev was provided with many years of persecution by the Kremlin of the NTV television company and the remnants of the team that will and unfortunately! - It turned out to be connected with your name.
The Kiselev team was a trap even then, at the beginning of the two thousandth. There was a destruction of freedom of speech, but whenever we opened our mouths to shout about it, we put the word "Svyazinvest" with your last name in this open mouth, and this gag was not spit out. "
