In Albania, the process of removal from the post of President Ilira Meta officially began, TASS reports with reference to the Albanian Telegraph Agency (Ata). The corresponding requirement was transferred to the parliament bodies of the deputy group of the ruling Socialist Party of Albania. The requirement of the resignation of the current head of state has already signed 55 deputies, which by 20 votes exceeds the number of signatures necessary for the start of the procedure. The reason for the launch of the impeachment procedure was the president’s decision to transfer the municipal elections appointed on June 30, which, according to the coordinator of the Albania of Albania Taulant Ball, is a gross violation of the Republic of the Republic.
"The principle of democracy in accordance with the basic law of the country is seriously violated," At the Balu quotes. At the same time, the head of the ruling party emphasized, "the head of state grossly violated the principle of the frequency of elections."
For removal from the post of President of Albania, initiators need to enlist the support of 94 parliamentarians, that is, two -thirds of the Albanian parliament. Then this decision must be confirmed by the Constitutional Court of Albania.
However, this highest court has not been functioning for more than a year. At the moment, and there is only one judge with an expired mandate, the remaining eight were removed from his duties after the necessary verification procedure has not passed.
At the end of May, the President of Albania, Ilir Meta, expressed his readiness to change the date of the municipal elections originally appointed in the country on June 30, in connection with the domestic political crisis.
The head of state has repeatedly called for reconciliation the conflicting parties, namely, the opposition democratic party (DP) Lulzima Bashi and Prime Minister Eddie Rama. At the same time, the president expressed his readiness to resign in case it contributes to the decision of the domestic political crisis.
