The US Treasury has imposed sanctions on the non-banking credit organization Russian Financial Society for ties with the DPRK, according to the website of the department.
The Ministry of Finance believes that the Russian Financial Society has provided financial services to the DPRK from the moment it received a license as a non-bank credit institution. The company's actions helped North Korea bypass US and UN sanctions, the agency said.
The company said that they did not understand "on what grounds an NPO could be included in the sanctions list."
The Russian Financial Society, according to Banki.ru, was registered in November 2002. The company specializes in settlement and cash services for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
