Lisa Alert and Megaphone will look for missing Novosibirsks together

Megafon launched a special platform for the search for missing children and adults using the “big data” analysis technology - “megaphone.Poisk”, which shortens the response time of rescue services and the search for witnesses from several weeks to several minutes. Only during the pilot with the ANO “Center for the search for missing people” the system helped in the search for more than 60 people.

The MegaFon.Poisk system using large data analyzes the circle of people who could be at the time of the loss of a person and sends them messages with a photograph, signs, age. The system was developed and tested together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Lisa Alert in March 2019, said Gevork Vermishyan, Director General of Megafon.

The pilot project with ANO “Center for the search for missing people” was held from March 24 to June 18. Messages were sent only to MegaFon subscribers who agreed to receive information materials when buying a SIM card. Already during the pilot, the initial boundaries of the newsletter were expanded: in addition to the Moscow region of SMS, they began to send the company's presence in all regions, and information about the loss of minors was added to the elderly.

The average number of numbers for which newsletters were made in the framework of one campaign - 2000, the minimum number is 33, and the maximum is 3209. The average time for working out the algorithm (from the request for mailing to the fact of the mailing itself) ~ 2 minutes. In total, during the pilot, our system helped in search of more than 60 people.
