In Novosibirsk, more than 250 people took part in a rally against the arbitrariness of the security forces and in defense of media freedom.

Initially, the rally was supposed to be held in support of Ivan Golunov, but the organizers decided not to abandon the rally even after the charges against the Meduza journalist were dropped.

“It’s reluctant and wrong to cancel the action, because many Russians are imprisoned under the same articles, charges and trumped-up cases,” explained Margarita Loginova, a Taiga.Info journalist.

The action was coordinated with the authorities, its participants, in particular, held posters "Journalism is not a crime" and "They steal, but we are sitting."

• Meduza journalist Ivan Golunov was detained in Moscow on June 6. The police charged him with attempted drug dealing. Golunov categorically denied guilt and linked the criminal case with his own investigations. On June 11, all charges against Ivan Golunov were dropped.
• On June 12, a march in support of Golunov was held in Moscow, which was announced before the release of the journalist. The mayor's office did not approve the action. The police and the National Guard detained more than 500 people on the march.
• On June 23, another rally in support of Golunov is to take place on Sakharov Avenue in Moscow, this time approved by the authorities. Its organizers are the Libertarian Party of Moscow and the Trade Union of Journalists and Media Workers.
