The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs decided to create a department for combating abuse in drugs

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev instructed to prepare proposals to create a structure to combat abuse in the investigation of drug crimes, TASS reports with reference to the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

"According to the results of the annual special program" Direct Line with Vladimir Putin, "the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev instructed the heads of the Main Directorate of his own security and the organizational and staff management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to prepare proposals for the creation of specialized units in the structure of their own security service," she said.

The wolf added that the main task of the new structure will be to identify and suppress violations of the legality by the employees of the drug control service.

"It is necessary to determine the functionality of the created units, their staffing in the central apparatus and in the territorial divisions of the ministry and solve other organizational issues," said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Earlier on Friday, it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs found violations in the work of police police officers in Moscow CJSC, who detained the journalist of Medusa Ivan Golunov. According to the Saiters of the Department of Department in Moscow, the violations were found during a preliminary investigation of the case under Article 30, Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code (attempted drugs for drugs), the charges of which were removed from the journalist.

A decision was made to send this criminal case to the Moscow prosecutor’s office to resolve the issue of its transfer for further the preliminary investigation to the investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee.

The day before, President Putin during a direct line said that the punishment for drug storage (Article 228 of the Criminal Code) does not need to be softened, but it is necessary to strengthen the control of the work of the security forces, "so that for the sake of galks people to prison are not put to prison." Putin also assured that "the necessary investigative actions will be carried out to identify all the perpetrators who created this abnormal situation"

On June 6, employees of the ATC for CJSC detained Medusa journalist Ivan Golunov, accusing him of attempted drugs. Five days later, after a wide public resonance and numerous shares of solidarity, the case against the journalist was terminated due to his non-involvement in the crime.

The police involved in the Golunov case were removed from work during the audit. Later, Putin fired the head of the Drug Control Department Yuri Devyatkin and the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Andrei Puchkov CJSC.
