The Berezutsky brothers will remain assistants to Leonid Slutsky in the Dutch Vitesse

Former defenders of the Russian national football team Alexey and Vasily Berezutsky will continue to work in the Dutch “Vitesse” as assistants to the team’s head coach Leonid Slutsky. The club's press service reported this on Friday.

The Berezutskys, 37, joined Slutsky as trainees in early January after passing their UEFA Category A coaching license exams.

The 47-year-old Russian specialist himself has been working with the team since the beginning of the 2018/19 season. Under his leadership, Vitesse took fifth place in the Dutch championship, but failed to qualify for the Europa League.

The Berezutsky brothers announced their retirement from their playing career in July 2018. They spent 16 seasons with CSKA Moscow, which was previously coached by Leonid Slutsky.
