In Irkutsk, the volunteers beaten for the distribution of newspapers refused to initiate criminal proceedings

The Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Irkutsk refused to institute criminal proceedings against men who beat the volunteers who distributed newspapers of an opposition candidate for the City Duma. This was reported by the OTD-Info by the press secretary of the Libertarian Party of Russia Daria Petrushenko.

The notice with the refusal came to the name of one of the victims and activist of the Libertarian Party Pavel Chernukhin. He and several more volunteers on May 31 distributed newspapers of the former coordinator of the local headquarters of Navalny Sergey Bespalov, who is running for deputies of the City Duma.

At about eight in the evening of local time two men approached them - later it turned out that their name was Alexander Razvodovsky and Denis Zharenkov - and began to take away newspapers. After the activists refused to give newspapers, the aggressors began to strike them in the face. As a result of the conflict, Chernukhin himself, as well as Zakhar Sarapulov, suffered.

The police eventually established the identities of the people who beat the activists, and recommended that the department for the cottage of explanation. The alleged attackers came to the police and gave explanations. Their detention was not reported.

The document that came to Chernukhin in response to his claim to initiate the case says that formally in the actions of the Razvodovsky and Zharenkov, the signs of the crime provided for in Article 115 of the Criminal Code are seen (intentional infliction of mild harm to health). “However, taking into account the fact that from the words of gr. Zharenkov and Razvodovsky intentional bodily injuries, they did not cause, then the corpus delicti under Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in and actions is not seen, ”the decree, which is at the disposal of the ATS-Info, said.

The document notes that an additional medical examination will be carried out, during which the severity of damage to the victims may change to a more serious one. According to Daria Petrushenko, the police took into account only the testimony of the attackers, and not the video materials on which the conflict was recorded.
