The court reduced the term of house arrest for Anastasia Shevchenko

The Rostov Regional Court reduced the term of house arrest for Anastasia Shevchenko, accused of collaborating with the "undesirable organization" Open Russia (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by Novaya Gazeta with reference to Shevchenko's lawyer Sergei Badamshin.

Earlier, on June 14, the Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don extended Shevchenko's house arrest until September 17. But today the regional court reduced this period to July 20.

“I don’t know what this decision is about. The motivational part will be ready in a few weeks. We asked to cancel house arrest,” Badamshin commented on the situation to Novaya Gazeta.

• In April 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office declared undesirable several organizations associated with Mikhail Khodorkovsky, registered in the UK and the USA. Russian traffic was not banned. Nevertheless, its members are persecuted. In most cases, they are accused of collaborating with an "undesirable organization", that is, one registered in the UK, to which they are not related.
• On March 30, Open Russia declared self-liquidation for security reasons. “Despite the fact that the persecution of Open Russia activists is illegal and we continue to insist on this in all instances, we have decided that the safety of people is more important for us,” said Natalia Gryaznevich, the organization’s press secretary.
• Criminal cases under the article on "undesirable organization" were also initiated against Maxim Vernikov , Yana Antonova and Anton Mikhalchuk .
