In mineral waters, the court sentenced the activist to the conditional time, who said that he was thrown by drugs

The Mineralovodsk City Court sentenced the activist Mikhail Savostin to the 3.5 years of the conditional term, who said that the police threw him drugs. This was reported to the Mediazone by the lawyer of the International Human Rights Group "Agora" Vitaly Zubenko.

The activist was found guilty of storing drugs on a large scale (part 2 of article 228 of the Criminal Code). The prosecutor's office asked him to be sentenced to four years in prison.

Savostina was detained in April 2018 on the way to the Free Russia forum, which was supposed to take place in Vilnius. According to the investigation, after the employees of the EE center and drug control stopped the car, the activist opened the door and threw a bag with marijuana under the wheel. After that, the security forces of Savostin and found another bag of drugs in the pocket. Ten more grams were found in the activist’s office.

After the detention, Savostin was sent to a pre -trial detention center. The accused himself insists that the drugs were thrown by him because of his opposition activity. Under the arrest, Savostin announced a hunger strike, the Memorial recognized him as a political prisoner

A few months later, the operatives who participated in the detention of Savostin themselves were in a pre -trial detention center in the case of extorting a bribe and falsification of evidence.
