Pase returned all powers to the Russian delegation

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) adopted a resolution with which she returned all powers to the Russian delegation, TASS reports .

116 deputies voted for the restoration of Russia's membership in the assembly, 62, 15 parliamentarians abstained. PACE called on Russia to fulfill all the recommendations included in the resolution of 2014 and 2015.

The resolution, in particular, states that the assembly calls for Moscow to free 24 Ukrainian sailors detained after a conflict in the Kerch Strait; Immediately pay all the contributions to the budget of the Council of Europe, as well as fully cooperate with the Netherlands in bringing the guilty of the guilty of the MH 17 flight over the Donbass.

In addition, the assembly demanded to prevent violations of LGBTI rights, in particular, in Chechnya, as well as cooperate during the investigation of the murder of the politician Boris Nemtsov.

After the decision of the Assembly, the Ukrainian delegation said that she was not going to participate in the June session, and left the meeting room.

After the adoption of the resolution, the meeting room left a delegation from Ukraine. The UNIAN agency notes that deputies from Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia also left the session.

The Russian delegation was deprived of the authority in PACE in 2014 after the events in Ukraine and the accession of Crimea. After that, Russia withdrew the delegation and stopped paying contributions in PACE.

Last fall, the Council of the Council of the Council of Turbjorn Jagund said that if Russia does not begin to pay contributions until the summer of 2019, the Committee of Ministers will exclude the country from the Council of Europe. The State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin did not exclude that Russia itself could leave the council.
