Irkutsk policeman tried to pay off a man whom he beat until his stomach burst

Senior police sergeant Andrei Kaydanyuk offered 300 thousand rubles to handyman Valery Gryaznov from the Irkutsk city of Slyudyanka, who was beaten in the department until his stomach ruptured. This was reported by the Public Verdict Foundation with reference to lawyer Svyatoslav Khromenkov.

“The policeman admitted guilt and offered 300 thousand so that Gryaznov would ask the court not to sentence him to real punishment. <...> At the same time, the accused does not think about the severity of the consequences: the guy will now not be able to eat normally for the rest of his life, and will only be able to earn money through light labor due to his disability. Gryaznov has a pregnant wife and an infant. According to the practice of the European Court, compensation for such crimes starts from 8 thousand euros,” Khromenkov said.

Now the Investigative Committee has already completed the investigation of the criminal case against Senior Sergeant Kaydanyuk. He is accused of exceeding his authority with the use of violence (clause “a” of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code).

As the investigation established, on April 1, Gryaznov was detained and taken to the Slyudyanka police department. According to the detainee, he was beaten there “without any purpose.” Because of the beating, Gryaznov lost his creation, and when he came to his senses, he was sent home. Later, doctors recorded a closed abdominal injury and a rupture of the stomach in the victim.
