President Vladimir Putin accepted Yunus-Bek Yevkurov's resignation and appointed Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov as Acting Head of Ingushetia, reported . the Kremlin website
- Yevkurov's powers were terminated ahead of schedule, Putin thanked him for his work.
- Kalimatov is a former (2004-2007) prosecutor of Ingushetia, who held this position under the former head of the republic, Murat Zyazikov. After that, he returned to the Samara region, where he made a career, worked as an adviser to the governor and in the department of Rosprirodnadzor in the region.
- Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov is the brother of the Hero of Russia (posthumously), lieutenant colonel of the FSB anti-terrorist department Alikhan Kalimatov, who was killed in 2007 by bandits in Ingushetia.
