On June 27, the Ministry of Justice included the American Free Russia Foundation in the list of “undesirable organizations,” according to the Ministry of Justice website.
Director of the Department of Organization and Control of the Ministry of Justice Andrei Chumakov clarified to TASS that the fund was contributed based on the decision of the Deputy Prosecutor General.
As stated on the website , the Free Russia Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization created by Russian emigrants in Washington in 2014.
The goal of the NGO is to unite the Russian community abroad, “support pro-democratic forces within Russia” and work with Western expert communities. The foundation became the 16th organization included in the list of undesirables in Russia.
