Russia has headed the rating of countries with the cheapest unlimited mobile Internet

Russia took first place in the ranking of countries with the cheapest unlimited mobile Internet, and also rose from the December 8th to 4th place in the ranking of countries in terms of the cost of mobile Internet as a whole. Both ratings were compiled by Content Review.

According to the agency, the average cost of 1 GB of Internet in Russia in June amounted to 37.9 rubles, decreasing from 55.5 rubles in December 2018. Mobile Internet is cheaper in Iran (5 rubles), Kazakhstan (29 rubles) and Egypt (37 rubles), and closes the five Israel (40 rubles). The average cost of 1 GB of mobile Internet in the world in June amounted to 195.5 rubles, decreasing by almost 75 rubles in six months. Mobile Internet is most expensive in Switzerland (1117 rubles), the USA (746 rubles) and Japan (610 rubles), Kommersant writes.

As for the unlimited Internet, in Russia such a tariff costs on average 613 rubles, while on average 2792 rubles around the world. The second and third place in this list was taken by Malaysia (761 rubles) and Poland (1119 rubles).

As the head of Content Review, Sergei Polovnikov today, unlimited tariffs, which operators temporarily refused a couple of years ago, all the Operators of the Big Four have, and the companies actively give discounts to new subscribers to connect unlimited tariffs that help increase the ARPU (average revenue from the subscriber).

"In 2019, operators are likely to retain unlimited tariffs, but if they do not receive frequencies for 5G, then it will be difficult to maintain them in an avalanche -like traffic growth," Polovnikov believes.

The company "Vimpelcom" (Beeline brand) confirmed high demand for unlimited tariffs, clarifying that in the first quarter of 2019, ARPU growth was about 6%. The Megafon said that more than 18 million customers use unlimited Internet. At the same time, the Tele2 called unlimited tariffs with a niche product, which is only interesting for a specific audience.
